Cat #1 — Abyssinian

A flat-color vector study exploring feline presence through simplified geometry, restrained contours and carefully balanced chromatic fields.

The beginning of an ongoing illustrated cat series.

Among the oldest and most distinctive domestic cat breeds, the Abyssinian is recognised for its slender silhouette, attentive posture and finely ticked coat, whose layered coloration gives the fur a subtle sense of movement and depth.

Though its precise origins remain uncertain, the breed is often associated with regions surrounding the Indian Ocean and the dry landscapes of Northeast Africa. Its appearance evokes adaptation to heat, openness and mineral terrain.

Rendered through minimal forms while preserving the characteristic proportions and markings of the animal, the illustration moves between graphic reduction and natural observation.

Set within a rocky semi-arid plateau inspired by warm continental landscapes, the scene explores a quieter atmosphere shaped by distance, stone and muted light.
